In a sax section the baritone is the anchor: roots, slow bass motion, the line that keeps a pad from floating. Baritone sax sheet music follows that bass function in the low range the section stands on.
Playback makes the bass function obvious. A line that outlines roots should look like bass motion, under the horns above it.

The bari is the anchor of the sax section. Long roots and slow motion on the bottom stay in the range you heard.

Walking figures and lines that do a bass player's job are fair game as pitches. Chord symbols above the staff are something you analyze after the line is right.

The anchor arrives as the pitches you hear, not the transposed band part. Those sounding pitches export as MusicXML or MIDI. A written bari part, if the folder wants one, is prepared in your notation editor.
A soli with an audible anchor is the friendly case. A bari used only as a blur inside a shout is harder.
01
A sax soli with a clear bottom, a bass-feature, or a quartet where the bari has the line will beat a muddy board tape.
02
Baritone is selected for you. Tick soprano and alto, or tenor, when those staves should exist. Auto tries to name the whole texture.
03
If an electric bass doubles the bari, listen for which attacks are the sax. Then export MusicXML or MIDI.
“Baritone sax sheet music of our soli showed the bass-function line under the tenors.”
“It held the pad down. Most of our charts want that anchor, and a solo only when the bari actually takes one.”
“I transposed the written part from the sounding pitches. The low line was already the one we play.”
Tenor takes the lower jazz solo and the lead line. Alto and soprano share one slot for heads and pads.
